It was Christmas Eve and Steve went out in our Royale Rapture Limousine to collect the wedding party to take them to the Registry Office. He took everyone to the Registry Office in Northampton for the ceremony and then on to a local restaurant for a celebratory lunch before going on the their reception in the evening.
When he returned at about 4.00pm the youngsters were delighted to find that rather than Steve picking them up it was Father Christmas visiting them earlier than expected. They were delighted and insisted on quizzing him about their presents. He told them they would have to be good and wait until he came back later with his reindeers!

The snow fall seems to be never ending this year, it started in December when our Bramwith Vintage wedding limousine was taking weddings guests to Blenheim Palace, the bride was travelling by horse and carriage and at one point Steve thought we would have to take her as well. Luckily she made it to the ceremony just in time – a horse and carriage struggles in the snow!
The heavy snow fall in the new year caused yet more chaos, we had to call off a couple of evening bookings as we felt the risks of taking a stretched limousines out in the bad weather were too great! Customers agreed with us and one of the jobs was postponed. Steve did however manage to honour all our wedding bookings, luckily they are in daylight and he will always do everything possible to avoid disappointment.
We could not believe it last Thursday when the snow fell yet again and we woke up to a covering on Friday morning. Steve was up early to clear the yard and get the cars ready to go out. Luckily by the time he had to get the Silver Chrylser wedding limousine out the snow had started to melt and again the bride and groom were relieved to see us arrive!

Patricia’s Wedding Car in Northampton
Last night I had a surprise phone call from Patricia to see how I was and to tell me the good news that she is expecting a baby in April next year!
Patricia booked our Silver Chrysler 300C for her wedding in Northampton in August 2008. During the run up to the big day I had numerous telephone conversations with her and we got to know each other quite well! The wedding was held on a Sunday so when she suggested that I go along I decided to take her up on the offer. The service was a really happy occasion and lasted for about three hours with people walking in and out – it was certainly a new experience and I am glad I went. Steve was driving our Silver Chrysler and I went along separately in our own car. Luckily I predicted that there might be a problem getting everyone into the wedding car so I went to the house beforehand and helped to transport the extras.
After the ceremony Patricia wanted photographs to be taken in Abington Park – again I took the overflow and Steve had to make two trips to the park to get all the main wedding party there. I helped with the young bridesmaids and felt like Maria in the Sound of Music walking through the park on a Sunday afternoon with about six youngsters hanging on to me!
After the photo session, which probably took about 90 minutes, we transported everyone back to the reception and joined them for much needed refereshments. Although we had not quoted on the basis of the amount of work we did on the day we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and our services were certainly appreciated by the bride and groom!

New Telephone Number for limo hire
The cost of using an 0845 telephone number when dialling from a mobile phone was recently brought to my attention. As a company we operate in more than one area, for instance we offer services for limo hire Oxford, limo hire Northampton and limo hire Milton Keynes as well as many other areas and therefore thought it useful to have a generic telephone number. People are often reluctanct to call for a quote if your landline number is outside their area. Using a generic 0845 number has worked for a number of years.
A couple of weeks ago I had an email from someone working outside the UK wishing to book a limousine to take his mother out for a birthday celebration. He was not able to use the 0845 number, I also had another email from someone asking for our local landline number as he was not willing to pay the price for dialling an 0845 number from his mobile! This got me thinking – I did some research and discovered that if we use an 0333 number this costs the same as a standard local call, ie normal rate from a landline and within free minutes from a mobile.
We are now updating our websites to incorporate our new telephone number which is 0333 800 1123 – hopefully the new number will be on our site by the end of next week!

On Saturday night Vicki booked our Silver Chrysler 300C for her birthday celebration to go to Northampton. She booked us a couple of months ago to take her grandmother out on her birthday and was so pleased with the service she used us again. They thoroughly enjoyed their meal in Northampton and we safely delivered her grandmother and mother back home before dropping the younger members of the party off in Banbury.
Just after the driver dropped them off he felt the car handling badly and stopped to see what the matter was – he had run over a large piece of glass and had a puncture! We thought the best way to get the car back to base was to use tyre weld – unfortunately the damage to the tyre was too severe so we had to take out the trolley jack and equipment from base and change the tyre at the side of the road. By the time we arrived in Banbury Steve in our Royale Rapture limousine had also made his way to Banbury, having dropped off his passengers in Oxford, luckily by midnight both limousines were ready to return to the yard, the Chrysler having the spare wheel on it!
All in a night’s work for Grosvenor Limousines – we just hope it doesn’t happen too often!
